Trump Administration Unveils Health Options for Small Firms

ㅤ"Officials said the proposal is aimed at two types of companies: small firms that are not required to offer health insurance and medium-sized firms that usually only offer their workers a single plan.
ㅤThe biggest change involves expanding the use of tax-free HRAs to allow more workers to buy their own health insurance, a practice the Obama administration had discouraged. The money employers put in the accounts is tax-free to workers and tax-deductible for the company. Officials say the move will bring more consumers into the individual health insurance market and promote competition."

Trump prepares to loosen Obama-era rules on short-term health insurance

ㅤ”‘Americans need more choices in health insurance so they can find coverage that meets their needs,’ Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said in a statement. ‘The status quo is failing too many Americans who face skyrocketing costs and fewer and fewer choices. The Trump administration is taking action so individuals and families have access to quality, affordable healthcare that works for them.'”

Ending Obamacare Subsidies Will Lower Premiums, Health Care Experts Say

ㅤ”The Washington Post, ABC News, and others failed to mention that while health insurers will no longer receive billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded subsidies, those same 2 in 10 consumers facing increased rates will also have more health insurance coverage options, thanks to the President signing an executive order allowing them to purchase their coverage across state lines.
ㅤThis move, according to conservative healthcare policy experts, will actually result in lower premiums.”

Schumer: Bipartisan health care bill ‘has a majority’

ㅤ”This is a good compromise. It took months to work out. It has a majority. It has 60 senators supporting it. We have all 48 Democrats, 12 Republicans,’ Schumer (D-N.Y.) said on ‘Meet the Press’ on NBC. ‘I would urge Senator McConnell to put it on the floor immediately, this week. It will pass and it will pass by a large number of votes.”

IRS to crack down on Obamacare declarations next year

ㅤ”The Internal Revenue Service will not accept electronically filed tax returns for the upcoming filing season in which people fail to note whether they have health insurance, according to an agency announcement that is a reversal of informal policy under the Obama administration.”

ㅤô¿ô …Ensuring people are compliant with the law is not sabotage. Nor is the issue open for debate.

Judge plans to rule next week in Obamacare subsidies fight

ㅤJudge Vince Chhabria

ㅤ”A group of 19 states filed suit last week in federal court in San Francisco, asking that the Department of Health and Human Services be required to continue the so-called cost-sharing reduction payments despite President Donald Trump’s announcement last week that they would be ended.
ㅤDuring a telephone scheduling hearing on the states’ request for a temporary restraining order requiring the government to continue the payments, U.S. District Court Judge Vince Chhabria said he’d like to rule on that issue next week.”

ㅤô¿ô …Chhabria will rule in favor of the socialists. He was appointed by Obama in 2015. The judicial system is corrupt through and through.

Collins ‘disappointed’ in Trump’s actions on health care ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ……

Story at The Hill, notes at the DC Drain, image from thehill(.com).

ㅤI think McCain, Flake, Corker, Rand Paul and the Freedom Caucus are all pleased with the President’s decision to end the subsidies. Apparently Collins is the only Republican senator who is “disappointed.” Collins should be booted out of the GOP.
