ㅤ”A GOP aide told the Examiner that allowing Graham to take part in immigration discussions could ruin the chances of any deal being reached on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
ㅤ’Anything that Graham is a leader on is, honestly, dead on arrival in terms of the White House and also in the House,’ the aide told the publication. ‘The problem right now, even more than policies, is the personalities, the people who want to spearhead their sides of the aisle. I don’t think Graham carries weight in the GOP conference.’
ㅤStaffers within the White House also said Durbin would be difficult to work with on the issue.
ㅤ’I respect Durbin and the rest of them, but their version of solving this problem is not the President’s version of solving this problem,’ a senior White House aide said. ‘What Sen. Graham, Sen. Durbin, Sen. Flake, those kinds of people are doing relative to a DACA bill is just not where [Trump] is, and not where the Senate and the House is.'”
ㅤô¿ô …I say it’s about time.

ㅤ”Respondents were given six names as well as the options ‘undecided’ and ‘refused’ to answer the question, ‘If the Republican Primary for US Senate were held today and your choices were (read choices from below), who would you vote for?’ The names listed as options were former Arizona State Senator Kelli Ward, Rep. Martha McSally, former Rep. Matt Salmon, Rep. David Schweikert, former Rep. John Shadegg, and Arizona Board of Regents member Jay Heiler.
ㅤWard took the lead with 26.4 percent. Eight points behind was McSally with 18.6 percent. Salmon trailed with just 10.4 percent with the three other names polling in the low to mid-single digits. Undecideds were just 28 percent with ten months left until Arizona’s August 28, 2018, primary election day. Just over six percent refused to answer the question.”

ㅤ”Democrats’ narrow path back to the Senate majority in 2018 runs directly through Arizona, and a Republican hold there would close it completely. Democrats currently have 48 senators, three seats shy of a majority, and have to defend 10 states Trump won. But they are attacking Republican seats in Nevada and Arizona and hold out hope for an upset in a deep-red state like Texas or Tennessee.”

ㅤ”‘We must never adjust to the coarseness of our dialogue, with the tone set up at the top,’ Flake said. ‘We must never accept the deadly sundering of our country. The personal attacks, threats against principles and freedoms and institutions, and flagrant disregard for decency.’
ㅤ’Reckless, outrageous and undignified behavior has become excused as telling it like it is when it is actually just reckless, outrageous and undignified,’ Flake continued. ‘And when such behavior emanates from the top of our government, it is something else. It is dangerous to a democracy.'”
ㅤô¿ô …It’s dawned on me where the Flakes are coming from. They’re Royalists. They expect government leaders to behave as Nobility. They are the people who still live in the 19th century. Good riddance.
