ㅤ”The Labor-HHS spending bill, as it’s known, is the biggest domestic spending appropriations bill passed by Congress, and it usually languishes until the end of the year because of partisan fights over the cost of social programs.
ㅤBut McConnell wants to move it to the floor in August, along with a bill funding the Defense Department, a top Republican priority, months earlier than in recent years.
‘We have an agreement with the Democrats to take up in a few weeks a combination of Labor[-HHS] and Defense,’ McConnell told reporters on Tuesday.
ㅤ’Our hope is by the end of August the Senate will approve nine of 12 appropriations bills, which means 90 percent of the funding of the federal government — from the Senate point of view — will be done through the regular order before we get to Labor Day,’ he added.”ㅤ

ㅤ"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) signaled on Wednesday that he will not support legislation reining in President Trump’s tariff authority and that the President will not sign such a bill.
ㅤ’Yeah, I don’t think we need to be trying to rein in the President through legislation. No. 1, it would be an exercise in futility because he wouldn’t sign it,’ McConnell told SiriusXM when asked if he opposed the bill.
ㅤMcConnell was asked about legislation, spearheaded by GOP Sen. Bob Corker (Tenn.), that would require Trump to get congressional approval for any tariffs invoked under the national security sections of the trade law, known as Section 232."ㅤ

ㅤ”Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Monday promised to take up an immigration bill protecting an estimated 800,000 Dreamers from deportation and allow an open amendment process if Democrats agree to reopen the government.
ㅤThe Senate will vote at noon on a three-week funding resolution to end the government shutdown that began at midnight Saturday. The legislation includes an extension of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
ㅤDemocrats have been pressing McConnell for a vote on the Dreamers legislation, and it is unclear whether his latest commitments will be enough to win them over.
ㅤWith some Republicans expected to vote against the bill, nearly a dozen Democratic votes will likely be needed to clear a 60-vote procedural hurdle.”

ㅤô¿ô …This is the final act of the farce. The Dems have to prove to the open-border nut jobs that they didn’t go down without a fight. But the plan concocted by both parties will get the bill passed. Expect a lot of staged screaming from Dems.
